Our purpose is to provide free quality instruction and support to literacy-seeking adults. Non-native speakers make up about 90% of our student population. Teaching is accomplished through single one on one tutoring, and small group tutoring. All instruction and services are FREE of charge. Our goal is to help the non-reading citizens of Franklin, Logan, Johnson, Pope, and Yell Counties learn to read or improve their reading skills and to help our students with the life skills needed to be functioning citizens in their communities. River Valley Literacy Council, Inc.,is a non-profit (501C-3) organization funded by individual contributions, special projects and events, various grants and donations.
